As many other European countries, Croatia went through its darkest period during the World War II. Being a region closely related to neighboring countries (Bosnia and Serbia), many national conflicts took place here. Some of those conflicts intensified during the civil war of the 1990s. To learn more about the complex nature of Balkan’s conflicts from many national and cultural perspectives, we encourage you to come with us to Jasenovac and Vukovar, places most historically wounded by what happened here during the worse part of the twentieth century.

THINGS YOU WILL LEARN:

  • How major history events formed and influenced future relations within the Balkans
  • Where was the largest and most infamous Croatian concentration camp
  • What happened in Croatia during Hitler’s nazi puppet state of NDH
  • …and much, much more
